CarroriccerebroEHealth (eHealth) is qualitatively changing the provision of health services, specially in the relationship between patients and health systems. It has gained such prominence that it is a priority for the European Union for the period 2014-2020. Based on the application of information and communications technology, eHealth enables greater efficiency and effectiveness in the allocation of resources, improved accessibility, speed of treatment, reduced response times, diagnostic abilities, cost savings, and improvement in the quality of services.1

Under the umbrella of eHealth, we find the services included in the concept of Telemedicine. These are defined by the American Telemedicine Association as "the use of medical information exchanged from one point to another via electronic communications to improve the state of health of a patient clinic [...] Telemedicine refers to the current provision of clinical services remotely using technology."
